COIR FIBRE

COIR FIBRE

Sri Kandiyamman Fibres is a leading exporter of natural Coir Fiber. This is extracted from matured green and brown Coconut Husks. It is then processed into the finest fibers which go into the making of mattresses, door mats, sacking, etc.

Coir Fiber is of two types–brown and white. Coir obtained from fresh green Coconut is termed as White Fiber, which is finer than the Brown Fiber. The Brown Fiber is the outcome of Seasoned Fully Matured Coconuts which lose their green color in the process. Each of them has their own distinct types of applications. The Brown Fiber is widely used for fabrication of doormats, brushes, coir mattresses and other upholstery material whereas the White Fiber is used for making ropes, making fishing nets, and other eco-friendly Products.

Know About Our Product

Coir fibres have a multitude of different applications and they are available in blocks and bales as well. The coir fibres are generally used in the production of ropes, mats and mattresses. The coir fibres that are extracted from the inner layer of the outer part of the coir husk are used in large scale production of the ropes, mattresses and brushes.

Coir (coconut fiber) is the fiber processed from coconut husks that have been cured in fresh water. Then, they’re removed from the water bath and dried for over a year. After the drying process, which is quite extensive, the coir is organized into bales. Thus, the bale fiber is produced through traditional milling by separating the long bristle fiber from the coconut husk after retting in husk pits. Combined longer and shorter fibers help to create a soil alternative that has exceptional water holding capacity.
